The High Representative of the European Union, Josep Borrell, has said that it is necessary to urgently escalate the situation in the north.

Borrell made this statement after the meeting with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti today in Bratislava, together with the emissary for dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, Miroslav Lajçak.

Borrell said that solutions are needed through dialogue to return to the implementation of the agreement reached in Ohrid.

"I met Prime Minister Albin Kurti in Bratislava to discuss the tensions in the north of Kosovo. The current situation is dangerous and unstable. We need urgent de-escalation and a solution through dialogue to get back to our work to implement the Agreement reached," Borrell wrote on Twitter.
