The municipality of Zveçan is surrounded by barbed wire, the Serb

Serbs in the north of Kosovo gathered again this morning in the municipal buildings to oppose and prevent the new presidents elected on April 23 from exercising their duties.

The most tense situation remains in Zvecani, which two days ago turned into an arena of clashes between KFOR troops and northern Serbs, leaving at least 35 Italian and Hungarian peacekeepers wounded.

This morning, KFOR has also reinforced the protective measures around the municipality building, placing barbed wire.
According to reports from the scene, the heads of the Serbian List, Goran Rakić and Igor Simić, also joined the protest.

In a reaction, a few hours ago, the US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, requested that the new heads of municipalities exercise their duties in another building until the tensions subside, a proposal that was rejected by Prime Minister Kurti, who said that democracy cannot be surrendered to fascist militias that do not represent the Serbian community in this area.
