After the riots in the north of Kosovo where KFOR soldiers were also injured after the clash with Serbian protesters, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has declared that 700 more troops will be sent to Kosovo.
Stoltenberg announced that these troops will be sent within the next few days and other forces will be put on high alert.
"We have decided that within a few days we will send 700 more troops to Kosovo and place additional forces on higher alert. These are cautious steps. NATO and KFOR have the forces and capabilities they need to fulfill the UN mandate," said Stoltenberg.
