Analyst Baton Haxhiu says that KFOR troops in Kosovo saved a massacre that could have happened today in the north of the country.

In a link to the show "Opinion", Baton Haxhiu said that the Serbian protesters were merciless and there was a risk of an armed clash.

"Today, KFOR actually saved a possible massacre in the north because it was between the Kosovo police forces and criminal groups. The fact that members of KFOR were injured shows how serious the situation was, how ruthless they were in a clash with the Kosovo Police, which today was lucky that the heroes of KFOR saved the situation from a clash that would was armed. The very fact that the situation is like this, we cannot talk here about procedure or legality or legitimacy. The three leaders and Mr. Thaçi and Mustafa and recently Kurti have signed a declaration that a model of normalizing relations between Serbia and Kosovo is being built. Respectively, the three leaders have agreed to build as rights for the Serbs. If we take the 4 steps. The first step is association, the second speeding up the procedure for the Council of Europe and the liberalization of visas, the third step the respect of the Constitutional Court for the granting of the land of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Deçan. And at the end is the liberalization of visas, the entry of Kosovo into the Council of Europe. Laws work when democracy is functional. Although we are dealing with a contested territory, although it is within the territory of Kosovo, you cannot impose the mayors on the majority there".

Baton Haxhiu has also shown how, according to him, this conflict in the north of Kosovo is resolved.

"A compromise must be found, and the compromise is dialogue. The other variant is what happened on Friday, you take the police there and get into a fight. The generosity of the majority is to give them rights. The return to dialogue as soon as possible, the preservation of the sovereignty of Kosovo and Albin Kurti to be brave and speak for the rights of the Serbs in the north. Otherwise, he is at the lowest point of his credibility".

25 KFOR soldiers were injured in clashes with Serbian protesters in the north of Kosovo.
