Since the end of December, when he was placed under house arrest, Sali Berisha has broken the security measure several times, inviting foreign politicians to his apartment.

One of them is the former Polish deputy, Ryszard Czarne (RESHARD ?ARNE), whose name comes to the attention of Tirana after he was arrested, together with his wife, on charges of corruption.

His meeting with Berisha took place in September of this year, for which he wrote an article about the conditions where the former prime minister is and the reception he gave him in his apartment, and the impossibility of receiving him at the headquarters of the DP -'s.

"A strong Albanian alcohol appears on the table - brandy and cake. The problem is that President Berisha cannot make an appointment with me at his favorite restaurant in Tirana or at the headquarters of the Democratic Party", says the former Polish MEP, in one of the two articles he has written about Albania.

Meanwhile, Polish media write that former MP Czarnecki was arrested on Wednesday, September 11, by the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau at Chopin Airport in Warsaw.

He was arrested in connection with the case of trading diplomas at the private university "Collegium Humanum".

The prosecutor filed two charges against Czarnecki; the first concerns the illegal influence on the Ministry of Education and financial benefits in the amount of 21 thousand euros.

There were also personal benefits, write the Polish media, which consisted of receiving false documents from his wife, which proved the completion of post-graduate studies at this university. In return, according to the prosecutor conducting the investigations, Ryszard Czarnecki acted as an intermediary in making decisions, evaluations and positive opinions for the university, including consent to the creation of a foreign branch.

The second charge concerns money laundering. His wife also has similar charges as it is suspected that she acted jointly and in consultation with her husband. This file with the trading of diplomas has been under investigation since March 2023.
