The MP of Great Britain, Alicia Kearns, reacted after Friday's statements by the Serbian president, Aleksandar Vucic.
Kearns, who is a staunch supporter of Kosovo, has asked the United Kingdom Government to urgently focus on the Balkans after Vucic's statement yesterday.
Through a post on X, she says that even though almost a year has passed since the attack in Banjska, there is still no justice, and there are still no EU sanctions against Serbia.
"Almost a year after the Banjska attack, there is still no justice, and despite the participation of the Serbian state, there are still no sanctions from the EU (only agreements on lithium and aircraft)", writes the English MP.
Kearns says that the Serbian president is behaving like Putin and is making plans for the annexation of northern Kosovo, but emphasizes that Kosovo is a sovereign state, and that the people of northern Kosovo and the Serbs of Kosovo "should not be used as hostages in irredentist ambitions."
"Vu?i? is acting on the basis of Putin's playbook by making plans for the annexation of the north of Kosovo. Kosovo is a sovereign state. The Balkans must move away from sectarian worldviews, the people of northern Kosovo and the Serbs of Kosovo deserve better, not to be used as hostages in irredentist ambitions", writes the MP of Great Britain, Alicia Kearns.
We recall that the British MP was among the first to warn of a possible attack in the north of Kosovo, like the one that happened on September 24, 2023 in Banjska.
In July 2023, she warned that weapons are entering Kosovo from Serbia through ambulances, which, according to her, are being placed in Orthodox churches.
