Three suspected members of the Palestinian militant group Hamas were arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of planning attacks on Israeli or Jewish institutions in Germany, the country's officials said.
The suspects will appear in court on Thursday. A judge will then determine whether the trio can be held in custody.
Germany's federal prosecutor alleged that they have been involved in the supply of firearms since the beginning of this summer. Various weapons, including an AK-47 rifle, and ammunition were found during a raid.
Two of the suspects are German citizens. The federal prosecutor's office described the third as born in Lebanon. They were named only as Abed Al G., Wael FM and Ahmad I., in accordance with German privacy rules.
The arrests were carried out as Hamas said it would study US President Donald Trump's peace proposal to end the Israeli-Hamas war in Gaza.
