French police arrested a man on Friday suspected of stabbing three women on the Paris metro.
The three women were attacked at three different locations along the Line 3 metro line that runs through central Paris, the RATP authority that runs the public transport service told AFP.
The attacks took place between 4:15 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. local time at Republique and Arts et Metiers stations, both near the Marais district, and Opera station, RATP said.
"The injured were quickly treated by emergency services," RATP said.
Paris police said two of the women who were attacked were treated by emergency services and taken to hospital and were not in critical condition. A third woman later presented herself at the hospital seeking treatment, they added.
Police used surveillance camera footage and cellphone tracking tools to find the 25-year-old suspected attacker in the Val d'Oise region north of Paris, prosecutors said.
"The activation of the geolocation of his mobile phone led to his arrest late this afternoon in Val d'Oise. Police are on the scene. Reserve security teams have been deployed to reinforce security on the line," they said.
