In the context of strengthening regional cooperation in the fight against organized crime and irregular migration, the General Director of the State Police, Skënder Hita, participated in the roundtable on the continuation and expansion of the Joint Task Force against Irregular Migration.
During his speech, Hita thanked the partners for their close cooperation and emphasized that irregular migration is closely linked to the activities of criminal groups, human trafficking, document forgery, money laundering and other forms of transnational organized crime.
"The Task Force is more than a cooperation mechanism; it is a concrete example of what we can achieve when the information, expertise and operational action of our countries come together in time," said Hita.
He praised the results of the Albania-United Kingdom Joint Task Force, established in 2023 and expanded to include Kosovo, North Macedonia and Montenegro, emphasizing that the cooperation has strengthened the professional and technical capacities of the Police through joint operations, training, real-time information exchange and investigations that have targeted criminal groups.
Hita also underlined the importance of further expanding this mechanism, proposing the full inclusion of Greece and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In conclusion, he reconfirmed the commitment of the State Police to take cooperation to a higher level and to consolidate the Task Force as a powerful regional mechanism against transnational organized crime.
