The Mayor of Gjirokastra, Flamur Golemi, has finalized a highly questionable tender in recent days. 45 days before the parliamentary elections, the local institution he heads will distribute food packages.
A very low action by Golem, who has exploited poverty to get votes. More precisely, he is not distributing food, but "alms", to families with major economic problems.
An abuse of public office and money, where every means is being used to obtain and "buy" votes. But, again with "alms packages"?!

According to documents available to VoxNews, the Municipality of Gjirokastra has opened a tender for "food packages." The documents state that it was done under the "no one left behind" program, but this program is for groups in need, to provide them with shelter, roads, and other amenities.
Especially since Golemi waited until the month before the election to open the procedure, buying food. Usually, these packages are distributed to disadvantaged communities and those in poor economic conditions. But using food for votes is a clear abuse of office.
According to documents researched by VoxNews, the "alms package" will contain pasta, 1 jar of sauce, 1 5-liter can of sunflower oil. There will also be 6 packages of 500-gram rice, 3 kilograms of beans, 1 3-kg laundry detergent, 6 kilograms of flour, 4 kilograms of sugar, 1 package of biscuits, 4 bags of salt and 4 bags of 500 grams of thierza.
The tender was made on March 26, 2025, while the documents state that the food should be grouped in packages for each family. A total of 80 packages. “The economic operator ranked first must appear before the contracting authority within 24 hours from the moment of publication of the winner's announcement. The delivery deadline for the goods will be 10 days from the moment of receiving the winner's confirmation notification from the system after the appeal deadline,” the documents state. So, the packages will be distributed immediately!
At the end of last year, the VoxNews editorial team published an article titled "Elections are coming, the Municipality of Saranda uses the New Year to campaign; 250 packages of 'flour, rice, oil, sugar ...'".
The Municipality of Saranda took advantage of the end-of-year holidays to distribute hundreds of food packages, while making almost 250 packages of flour, rice, oil, sugar, etc. "A 'charity' to get votes, where it seems that the political class still uses residents as 'guinea pigs' today, 34 years after the fall of the dictatorship ," wrote our editorial team.
Even at that time, sugar, flour, pasta, rice, and oil were distributed. Even packages of kadaif, soft drinks, coffee, and plastic bags.
