Ukraine at war, Albania will import sunflower oil from Northern Macedonia

The Minister of Finance, Delina Ibrahimaj, has announced that starting tomorrow, sunflower oil will come to Albania from Northern Macedonia in the framework of the cooperation from the "Open Balkans" initiative.

" Tomorrow, the Republic of Northern Macedonia will take an important decision that will open the export of sunflower oil to Albania, which was a product that as we have announced is a product that was imported from Ukraine and there was a shortage in international markets and the reason why prices have been higher.

I want to ensure that the relationship between the two countries in the field of trade will continue to be very good and we will continue to facilitate all the procedures we have undertaken within the Open Balkans .

Also present at the conference was the Minister of Economy of Northern Macedonia, Kreshnik Bekteshi.

" I am pleased that we have increased trade cooperation. If we make a comparison from the trade exchange before the time of trade, we are better in the quarter of this year, where we have exceeded the amount of 200 million euros of trade exchange which was not more than 140 million euros, according to the data of the Statistical Office " , stressed Bekteshi.

The largest importers of oil warned that from June in the country will begin to feel the restrictions of edible oil, due to the high decline in supply in European markets. After many countries in Europe, which have imposed restrictions on the purchase of edible oil by consumers in supermarkets, in the Albanian market the first to suffer supply restrictions are small traders.
