Elite tourism has increased the income in the state budget. From January to the end of August, 10 million euros were collected from the fuel tax, just from the yachts and cruises supplied in the Port of Durrës.

The fuel sold for the yachts and cruises that visited our country this year has brought additional income to the state budget. According to data released by the Port of Durres, compared to the same period last year, tax revenues were 10 million euros, or 1 million euros more than a year ago. This period of the year, 450 yachts and 13 cruises have visited the Port of Durrës, which have increased the income from this item by 17 percent.

"In January-August 2023, 18,995 tons of fuel were supplied, and the income from the National Tax reached 910 million ALL. In the same period of 2024, with 22,230 tons, and the income reached 1,065 million ALL. This shows the continuation of a successful tourist season and the expansion of the activity of vessels, says a statement issued by the captaincy of the port of Durrës.

From 2022, yachts that are supplied with fuel in the free customs zone are taxed 40 ALL per liter of fuel. The analysis of the numbers shows an increase in income, where in 2022 there were 6 million euros, in 2023 there were 9 million euros and in 8 months of this year 10 million euros.
