Gjergj Bojaxhi

Economist Gjergj Bojaxhi, former director of KESH (Albanian Electricity Corporation) has made an estimate of how much electricity a family with 4 members consumes per month on average.

Invited to "Opinion", Bojaxhi said that for all the necessary services that a family needs, much more KWH is consumed than 800, which is the limit set by the government. According to Bojaxhiu, 1200 kwh per month will be used only for heating.

"These are figures calculated for a 70 square meter apartment for a family of four. I have calculated water heating 167 kw, cooking 125 kw, lighting 58 kw, others, 125 kw. All these go to 475 kw without counting the heating, this is the minimum.

Now heating, to heat just a 5 by 5 room with 2.8 height multiply by 0.0606 kw and it comes out to about 5 kw per hour, this is just for one room not for the house. If you calculate it, only 10 hours a day costs about 50 kw a day to heat a home environment, if you multiply it by 30 days it goes to 1200 a month," said Bojaxhi.
