IMF: World economy growing, labor market becoming more stable

The world economy is showing remarkable resilience, performing better than expected despite ongoing challenges, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The head of the IMF, Kristalina Georgieve, emphasized that they have performed a complete analysis of two main aspects of the data. First, consumer demand remains strong and government spending has also shown considerable resilience.

Second, the IMF has examined growth trends in major economies. The fund has also noticed two important trends. First, inflation rates, which rose last year, are now falling in many economies.

Second, the labor market has shown relative stability, indicating that people are employed and have disposable income, further bolstering growth prospects. Despite the positive signs, Georgieva warned that decision-makers around the world still face significant challenges, citing fiscal authorities here.

If we were to make a comparison, world economic growth is still weak, far below what it was before COVID-19. However, the economy is doing well and is promising, despite difficulties, or even challenging environments for decision makers.
