Preliminary data for the Population and Housing Census will be published on June 28. At the most recent meeting of the Committee for Economy and Finance, the annual report of the Institute of Statistics was presented, where the population and housing census was at the center of the discussion.
DP MP Edmond Spaho accused the delays in the publication of the census for political reasons and the registration of a person several times, in order to increase the declared number of the population.
Meanwhile, the Director of INSTAT, Elsa Dhuli, explained the deadlines for the publication of the census, adding that a small percentage of the population has remained unregistered.
After the publication of the main data of the census, the details of the indicators in the municipalities will continue, while it is expected that in October the final results will be published on a special platform. Meanwhile, earlier it was announced by the Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, the amendment of the tourism law for the establishment of the Inter-institutional Council of Tourism Statistics, where INSTAT will only have an advisory role.
The Agricultural Census is expected to start within this year, where data will be extracted on the surface of the land, how much is used and how much has been planted, the number of livestock and others like this.
