Albania has accepted Serbia's initiative to form a joint working group for co-operation in the energy crisis and strategic projects, Serbian Energy Minister and Serbian Deputy Prime Minister said tuesday.
Zorana Mihajlovic spoke from Tirana, as part of the next technical meeting for the Open Balkan. She said the region's energy security in crisis situations requires solidarity, ties and collaborative engagement in strategic projects.
"All of us in the region are under great pressure to ensure that energy is not lacking in winter. However, it is important that, in addition to solving current supply problems, we also discuss strategic projects and possible joint investments, which will make the whole region more energy stable," she explained.
She added that Serbia's proposal was the formation of a joint working group from Serbia, Albania and North Macedonia that will deal with solving energy problems this winter, as well as possible co-operation for important strategic projects.
"I expect that from next week we will begin work within the framework of the working group and present proposals for joint investments to the presidents and prime ministers of our countries, be they for solar power plants, wind power plants, common balance, market, gas, interconnections, or perhaps even underground gas depots," she said.
