Murder of Gilmando Dani and Muçi Shaljani without perpetrator, young man from Fushë-Kruja RELEASED!

The 35-year-old man escorted by police on Tuesday evening in connection with the assassination attempt in Rinas that killed Gilmando Dani and Muçi Shaljani has been released after being questioned for several hours.

A resident of the village of Halil , very close to the place where the Toyota car believed to have been used by the perpetrators of the attack was found and burned .

During his testimony, the young man stated that he was not in the apartment at the time the vehicle was burned and denied having seen any suspicious movements or having any connection to the incident.

His escort was made because he was previously convicted of robbery with violence, while no evidence was found of his involvement in Rinas's assassination.

While a month has passed since the assassination, the police continue to question people who may have knowledge of the event, but so far neither the perpetrators nor the ones who ordered it have been identified.

On the other hand, the police have received expert reports on the weapons found in the burned car. According to sources, the weapons did not appear to have been used in other criminal incidents.

After the assassination, a house with an arsenal of weapons was discovered in the village of Zall, owned by Ylli Zalla, who was declared wanted. Initially, suspicions were raised that the perpetrators could have obtained the weapons there, but the final expertise has ruled out this possibility.

Gilmando Dani , a friend and collaborator of Emiljano Shullazi, was executed at noon on November 11 with a hail of bullets near the 'Mother Teresa' airport, while his friend, Muçi Shaljani Sheqeri , an AMP agent, was also seriously wounded.

The latter died a few days later at the Trauma Hospital in Tirana, as a result of the injuries he sustained.

Their 'Benz' vehicle was shot at by unidentified persons with a "Toyota Yaris" type vehicle, which was found burned a few minutes after the incident in Fushë Krujë. 

The perpetrators, masked and wearing uniforms resembling police uniforms, fired shots at the vehicle, stopping it on the spot.

Then, one of the perpetrators got out of the car, reloaded the gun and shot again at Gilmando Dani, who was sitting in the passenger seat.

Gilmando Dani had just arrived in Albania with his friend from Barcelona, ??Spain. The two had flown to Barcelona on November 7th and left their car parked at the airport, while they returned from Barcelona on November 11th.

The plane Dani was traveling on landed on Albanian soil at 1:55 p.m., about 35 minutes before scheduled time. The assassination occurred 25 minutes later at the Rinasi roundabout.

From the very beginning, the police action focused on the area of ??Nikla and Fushë Krujë, from where the perpetrators are suspected to have fled.

A few days after the event in one of the villages of Fushë Krujë, an arsenal of weapons was discovered in an abandoned house, but as of this writing, no connection has been made between the weapons found and the assassination of Rinas.
