During a press conference, DP leader Sali Berisha asked the CEC to increase the number of operators handling data on diaspora voter registrations.

According to him, the addition of operators in data processing is one of the serious problems.

Another concern raised by Berisha is the fact that, according to him, the SP is not accepting biometric identification documents from EU countries. According to him, this is absurd.

"The CEC has pledged that this increase will happen immediately, but keep in mind one thing, that the CEC is commanded, in one way or another, by the SP, which is doing everything to delay this process. The addition of operators in data processing is one of the serious problems.

Secondly, there are problems with the identification of the cards, but these are from the contracted company. Our auditors are also dealing with this issue. The fundamental issue that remains here is this, the acceptance of biometric documents from other countries. There is a hesitation from the socialists, because for absurd reasons, the biometric documents of EU member states, now is the time of biometrics, cannot be put into question in an absolute way by the Albanian authorities.

They have international certification. If we go with this logic, that only those who have Albanian biometrics will vote, then you can exclude two-thirds of emigration and the diaspora from voting. But negotiations are continuing," Berisha said.

Asked when the primaries to select candidates for MPs will begin, Sali Berisha said that the DP has primaries in its statute and the competition will open very soon.

"There is a DP statute that is above me. That statute was unanimously approved. I am not the statute, I am the person who implements the statute. Different opinions are acceptable, but the statute will be implemented. As you can see, there is a very large concentration on the diaspora vote and in fact we have decentralized it. So there are many of our leaders, local and central, who are both in Albania and in other countries in contact so that we can register as many of our voters abroad as possible. Very soon, the competition for deputies and the entire process will open ," said the leader of the DP.
