A serious incident was prevented in time by the State Police in the village of Risili, Vlora, avoiding a possible tragedy within the family.

According to preliminary information, the blue uniforms received a report that a person armed with a knife was threatening his family members.

Immediately after the alert, police forces intervened, enabling the neutralization and arrest of the perpetrator.

This is about a 75-year-old man, who is suspected of having exercised violence and posed a real danger to the lives of his wife and other family members.

The timely intervention of the police has avoided the escalation of the situation, avoiding an event that could have had tragic consequences, similar to other cases that have occurred previously in the country, such as the one in Fier, where a husband killed his wife and then himself.

Authorities are continuing investigations to fully clarify the circumstances, while the materials have been referred to the competent authorities for further legal action.
