Killed near Novosela / Kristian Marku assassinated Kastriot Reçi's
Sajmir Reçi / Martin Bardhi

Kristian Marku, a 30-year-old from Rrëshen, was killed in a gun attack this afternoon on the Fier-Vlora highway, near Novosela.

Voxnews.al learns that Marku is a person with previous criminal records for "Intentional murder in collaboration, attempted" and "Unlicensed possession of firearms and combat ammunition."

He was traveling in a Volkswagen when he was shot with a hail of bullets near a gas station. The 30-year-old died instantly from the bullets.

Who is Kristjan Marku, also known as Kristjan Bardhi?

30-year-old Kristjan (Marku) Bardhi is the nephew of Martin Bardhi, also known as Marjan Marku. In 2023, Marjan and Kristjan Marku were involved in a gun attack on Sajmir Reçi, the nephew of Kastriot Reçi.

The incident occurred in the town of Rrëshen, where the two got out of the car and opened fire with a barrage of bullets at the car of Sajmir Reçi, a well-known name in the underworld.

The latter managed to escape the assassination attempt, while Martin Bardhi would be killed just a few months later in the city's café, immediately after he had been released from prison.

It is suspected that the clash between them and the Reçi tribe started due to a trivial argument over Martin Bardhi's son's wrongful overtaking, at which time both parties physically clashed.
