The director and engineer of the company "Delvina Gaz", who were arrested by the police yesterday for a 2000 m2 construction, have been released.

The decision was made by the prosecutor, Esmeralda Basho.

Police announced yesterday that their arrest was made after it was determined during the inspection that this company was building a gas plant (TEC), on public property, without a construction and development permit from the competent authorities.

As part of the measures taken to prevent and crack down on cases of illegal construction that violate the territory and the environment, the structures of the Economic and Financial Crime Investigation Section of the Vlora DVP, in cooperation with the inspectors of the IKMT Tirana and the Environmental Inspectorate, exercised control over a private entity (gas company) in Delvina.

During the inspection, it was found that this company was building a gas plant (TEC), on public property, without a construction and development permit from the competent authorities.

At the end of the first procedural actions, the Crime Investigation specialists arrested the following citizens in flagrante delicto:
* Elton Malkaj, 31 years old, responsible for the gas plant, and Luan Metaj, 53 years old, responsible for the construction site, both suspected of the criminal offenses of “Illegal construction”, with the aim of profit, and “Land occupation”.
Also, the following citizens were declared wanted:
* SM, 56 years old, the owner of the company, and Jugelard Ibrahimi, 36 years old, the company administrator, both also suspected of the criminal offenses of “Illegal construction”, with the aim of profit, and “Land occupation”.
The IKMT has kept a record of the violation and has blocked the works on this facility.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Saranda, for further actions.
The Vlora Police remains committed to ensuring law enforcement and protecting the territory from any illegal construction that endangers the environment and public safety.
Two engineers have been arrested by the Economic Crime Unit in Vlora, while the owner and administrator of a company have been declared wanted.

The police announced that during the inspection it was found that this company was building a gas plant (TEC), on public property, without a construction and development permit from the competent authorities.

The lawyers of "Delvina Gas Company" have also reacted to the case. They state that the Purification Plant is not a TEC, but is an integral part of the gas well at the Delvina Source.

"This cleaning plant has been under construction for 3 years and the two engineers were simply maintenance workers for the cleaning plant, which had already been built some time ago. The company "Delvina Gas Company", a branch of the foreign company, has implemented every obligation and regulation, adhering step by step to the legal framework in force in the hydrocarbon sector," the announcement states.
