A serious event was recorded last night in Shkodër. 

A 32-year-old woman threw her male baby into the river Kir and today the baby was found dead by the police. It is about citizen Oriana Gremi, a resident of Myselim village, who gave birth to the baby on December 30.

"The Investigative Structures of the Shkodra Local Police Directorate, based on information intelligence, that yesterday evening, a citizen allegedly abandoned her male baby, born on December 30, 2022, and could have thrown him into the Kir River, have organized the work for the verification of this received information.

As a result of the checks carried out by the Police services, during yesterday evening and the early hours of this morning, in the place called Postribe, in the river Kir, the body of the 32-year-old baby, who had throwing it into the river at night," the Police statement said.

32-year-old Oriana Gremi has been arrested by the Police and charged with the criminal offense of "Deliberate murder". The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Shkodër Judicial District Court for further action.
