This is the moment when the chief of road traffic, Roven Zeka, appeared at the local Tirana Police Directorate to surrender following an arrest warrant from SPAK.

Footage provided by Top Channel journalist Anila Hoxha shows Zeka entering the police station after being informed by the media about the arrest warrant.

SPAK has issued three arrest warrants for three traffic police officers in Tirana on suspicion of corruption. As unofficially reported, the head of the traffic police station, Roven Zeka, the head of the investigation of car accidents, Sokol Novaku, and traffic police officer Edison Tabaku are suspected of corruption.

The wiretaps revealed that the crime scene investigation officer had mentioned his two superiors in the traffic police to change the results of a car accident.

The case was investigated by special prosecutors who were set in motion after a road accident in the capital, an event for which there are suspicions that the money was paid by a female citizen to the judicial police officer.

It still remains unclear how much the amount demanded is and whether there were any life-threatening consequences from this accident.

But what is explained is the fact that officer Edison Tabaku inspected the scene, while he then communicated with the head of the accident line, Sokol Novaku, also with a restraining order.

Because he is mentioned by the two officers, the arrest warrant has also been signed against Zeka, appointed to this position in mid-December 2024.

In addition to Zeka, who surrendered, the BKH has arrested the other two, while the actions continue to be carried out by investigators from the National Bureau of Investigation./ TCH
