
The United States Embassy in Tirana has announced through a post on social media the official visit of the Assistant Director of ICITAP of the US Department of Justice, Stephen Fields , who stayed in Albania from May 19 to 23.
According to the Embassy, ??during his visit, Mr. Fields met with Chargé d'Affaires Nancy VanHorn, as well as other embassy officials and leaders of law enforcement institutions in the country, to emphasize the strong partnership between the U.S. and Albania.
He conveyed the priorities of the US Attorney General in the fight against cartels, international organized crime and illegal immigration.
The Embassy announces that during his stay in Tirana, Mr. Fields held meetings with the Minister of Interior Ervin Hoxha, the head of SPAK Altin Dumani, the Director of the State Police Ilir Proda, the Director of the Police Supervision Agency Florian Sulejmani, the Director General of Prisons Klevis Qose and other officials.
Also, through ICITAP and cooperation with the State Department's Counterterrorism Bureau and INL, $340,000 worth of American equipment has been delivered to Albanian prisons.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Excellence Award ceremony and the first international IADLEST accreditation for the Security Academy took place.

The U.S. Embassy in Tirana welcomed the U.S. Department of Justice's Assistant Director of ICITAP, Stephen Fields, from May 19 to 23.

Assistant Director Fields held meetings with the Minister of Interior Ervin Hoxha, the Head of SPAK Altin Dumani, the Director General of the State Police Ilir Proda, the Director General of the Police Supervision Agency Florian Sulejmani, the Director General of Prisons Klevis Qose and others.
In addition, $340,000 in American equipment was transferred to Albanian prisons through ICITAP and the State Department's Bureau of Counterterrorism and INL.
The visit concluded with the presentation of the Excellence Award and the first international IADLEST accreditation for the Security Academy.
