Analyst Lorenc Vangjeli spoke about the meeting at the Prime Minister's Office between Prime Minister Edi Rama and the US Ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle. During his speech, Vangjeli emphasized that the meeting came without an official announcement.
Regarding the published footage showing Rama receiving the ambassador outside the Prime Minister's Office, Vangjeli stressed that according to him, the footage appears to have been filmed on demand. He added that the filming was done to show that an important person was coming to Tirana for a meeting, while today the opposition protested in front of the Parliament.
"A more interesting detail in this story, which has no official explanation, no official statement, is also apparent from the angle of the filming, which is a commissioned film to tell what happened, in all likelihood."
It was said that it was a random citizen who passed by on the phone. But in all likelihood it is one of those menus served by the prime minister to show who is coming here and it was from a formal point of view again on a dramatic day for him, his majority, Albanian politics in charge with a collision course that seems not only on the horizon, but always and closer with the European Union, with the most powerful countries of the European Union and above all with Great Britain.
"This seems like a moment of calm, a moment like entering the gate. I would not be able and would not want to speculate on any reason, because they could be from a courtesy visit. I do not believe that he came to give any message because this would not be the appropriate channel to do so ," he said on the "Now" show on Euronews Albania.
While journalist Dritan Hila had a different perspective on this meeting.
Hila noted the character of the leaders the Trump administration likes and the political context of the visit. According to him, Guilfoyle's visit is not only related to formal diplomatic relations, but is also a political signal from the Trump administration.
Hila also emphasized Senator Rubio's role as an influential figure within the US administration, arguing that the visit could serve to send a strategic message related to the United States' economic and political interests in the region.
"Rama is a man who finishes your work, whether in Zvërnec he takes Zvërnec, in Sazan he takes Sazan. That's how it was with Berisha, if you wanted to take something, Berisha would change his mind, close the deal, he wouldn't stay with you for long. And Trump likes these types of strong leaders. This brings a message, it's not in vain that he's delaying time in Tirana, but I don't believe it's a hostile message, because if it were a hostile message. I also think that he has brought a message from the Presidency, from the Trump kingdom which is still strong. He causes fear and has fought some wars, he has clear ideas. This is one of those people who brings a message, he didn't come to delay the evening in Tirana, Athens is more beautiful to delay the night ," Hila said on the "Now" show on Euronews Albania.
The specific reasons for Kimberly Guilfoyle's visit to the Prime Minister are still unknown. She is known as one of President Donald Trump's most supported figures, having been the ex-fiancée of his son.
