Scandal/ AKU inspectors refused the Minister's order to block 104 tons of
Modi sh.pk in Malësia i Madh

AKU Shkodra inspectors did not respect the order of the Minister of Agriculture, Andis Salla , who, since November, had to analyze every shipment of corn imported into Albania.

But this command was not implemented for the Modi poultry subject in Malësia e Madhe.

During the last two months of 2025, this business imported 104 tons of Serbian corn contaminated with alfalfa toxin.

Being outside the reach of the NFA, 94 tons of moldy corn went to feed chickens.

According to Chief Inspector Dashnor Sula, meat and egg products from this business are not dangerous for the consumer, even though food safety laws have been violated.

"Following the verifications, it was found that the subject imported about 104 tons of imported corn during the months of November-December 2025. Of this amount, only 9.5 tons remained in storage. While the rest was consumed in this Modi sh.pk poultry farm in Malësi e Madhe", declared Sula.

A disciplinary group has been set up against 10 AKU inspectors who avoided the seizure of corn at customs, as this product should not have entered Albania.

"The whole problem is that this corn should have been blocked at the Hani i Hoti customs point. At the moment when a shipment is suspected of not being within standards, it should have been analyzed and samples at customs were not taken," added Sula.

Meanwhile, an administrative measure of 5 fines was imposed on the food business operator that produces meat and eggs, and the case was forwarded to the prosecutor's office for criminal prosecution, as food safety is part of national security.
