Albanian man stabs ex-wife to death in Greece, 50-year-old woman runs into supermarket to escape (GRILLING VIDEO)

A 50-year-old Albanian woman ended up in hospital after being brutally attacked with a knife by her ex-husband in the middle of the road on the small Greek island of Thasos.

The harrowing footage was captured by the cameras of a supermarket near her home, where she ran barefoot to escape her ex-husband, who had arrived in Greece a few days earlier from Albania. Watch the VIDEO HERE.

Her efforts proved futile, as the 55-year-old man hit her in the face and head, leaving her injured, as soon as she left the supermarket. The moments that follow are shocking, as the woman falls to the ground and the few citizens who were there try to help her.

"He came from Albania to the island, told people that I was her brother and they showed him the house. After he went to the house, the frightened woman closed the doors, but he broke the window glass," one of the witnesses recounted.

The 55-year-old was arrested and a knife and a screwdriver were seized, while his ex-wife is in the hospital.
