A well-known exponent of the underworld, from Albania, has been detained by authorities in Dubai and law enforcement officers have been forced to search his home. But when they got there, the police were surprised by what they found.

8 million euros or 8 billion Albanian lek were found in cash belonging to the Albanian, whose name is not disclosed because he is already free in the country considered the "Pearl of the Gulf".

Journalist Eni Ferhati revealed this detail to Euronews and what the Albanian had told the Dubai police.

"In one of the detentions of these Albanians who are held for 30 days and then released. During the inspection in the apartment of an Albanian, Dubai police authorities found 8 million euros in cash, they were impressed that why such a large amount was kept in the apartment while you can take it to the bank and no one asks you to say where you found them. The answer of the exponent wanted by the police but who already enjoys freedom there, surprised the Dubai police as he answered that he had this money for daily expenses, as he had the rest in the bank", said Eni Ferhati.

Many Albanian citizens wanted by the justice authorities in our country, but also by partners, take shelter in Dubai because the country mainly does not allow extraditions.

Recently, the Albanian Police announced that in cooperation with the authorities in the Emirates, they have located and arrested the citizen Durim Bami , described as Nikla's "strongest".

The decision that will be taken after 30 days in custody is awaited with interest, whether Dubai will allow the extradition of Durim Bami through the deportation procedure, or will offer him freedom and a life of luxury in the Pearl of the Gulf.
