Revolt in Gjadri camp, migrants destroy rooms, three of them injure themselves

There was tension and chaos at the migrant center in Gjadra, where 40 foreign citizens transferred from Italy are being housed.

The incident, reported by Tg4, has sparked debate again, especially since it concerns the same immigrants to whom the Italian left had reacted angrily due to the use of plastic handcuffs during the disembarkation from the Libra ship.

According to reports, around twenty of the migrants caused a disturbance in the centre's premises, damaging furniture, destroying mattresses and breaking window panes. The situation spiralled out of control for several hours, forcing the intervention of security staff.

The cases of self-harm were worrying, as it is learned that three immigrants used sharp instruments to inflict wounds on themselves. They were immediately treated by the center's medical staff and fortunately, they did not suffer serious injuries.

Meanwhile, one of the immigrants, who had his deportation order canceled, has already returned to Italy.
