Prime Minister Edi Rama declared today that the new National Theater will be the most beautiful in the entire Balkans and will be one of the most beautiful theaters in all of Europe.
"The most beautiful National Theater, or even non-national, it doesn't matter that there are other beautiful theaters that are not the National Theater, but it will be the most beautiful in the entire Balkans without question and it will be one of the most beautiful theaters in all of Europe. Then what it will be in terms of content, this is up to the community," said Prime Minister Edi Rama in his FLASIM podcast.
The head of government expressed confidence in a super infrastructure, but left the artistic challenge to the artists, not revealing how it will function as a theater, as he has reservations about the management models so far.
"From a management point of view, we are not yet at a stage of our development where we have the management capacities of cultural institutions that are such as to take the institution to another level and make a difference, I speak as a whole. Of course, we are also very good managers here. What is important is that that theater will be able to host foreign troupes, it will definitely be able to host troupes and actors from Albanian-speaking territories, it will be able to offer a lot, from an infrastructure point of view ," Rama emphasized.
The Prime Minister also spoke about other cultural projects that are being developed in parallel.
"We are building the new National Gallery, we are transforming the National Museum. We have a very ambitious program for this mandate to build several smaller museums in Tirana. We are building, I believe with great success, a Museum of the History of the Jews of Albania in Vlora. We are preparing to start work on the "Besa" Museum here in Tirana. For the Museum of Islamic Art. We have a number of things going on in parallel," Rama said.
The question mark, according to the Prime Minister, for all these investments is the level of management at the height of the architecture, at the height of this new infrastructure.
