40-year-old Qazim Hodollari has been declared wanted for attempted murder by German authorities, and is considered dangerous.

BILD reports that the dramatic scenes took place on November 26th at around 11:20 a.m. on Elisabeth-Selbert Street in Mülheim, Germany. A 37-year-old man from Gelsenkirchen was seriously injured by a stab wound to the abdomen.

The police have since been investigating the case for attempted murder. A special commission for the investigation of murders, led by the Duisburg Public Prosecutor's Office, has been assigned to the case.

The suspected perpetrator comes from Albania.

The police are publicly searching for the suspect Qazim Hodollari, a 40-year-old Albanian citizen with no permanent residence in Germany. Investigators have released his photographs and personal details. It is suspected that after the incident he is on the run in Mülheim (Ruhr region) and is considered potentially armed and dangerous.

Possible background to the attack

According to initial reports, the cause of the incident may have been a conflict related to a personal relationship. The 37-year-old went to his ex-partner's apartment on the day of the incident. There he was confronted by her new partner - the suspect currently being sought. A conflict broke out between them, which escalated into violence. The 40-year-old is suspected of hitting the victim once with a cold weapon.

The injured man from Gelsenkirchen was with a relative at the time. After the attack, he got into his car and left the scene. According to investigators, during the drive, he noticed the wound in his lower abdomen and immediately notified the police.

The 37-year-old received emergency medical attention and was taken to hospital. According to police, his life is not in danger.

Investigators ask for the public's help

The murder investigation commission has been working intensively on this case for days and is now hoping for information from citizens. Anyone who sees the wanted person or can provide information about his whereabouts should immediately call the emergency number 110.
