Why did Elton Alushi resign?

Elton Alushi, director of the Tirana Local Police Directorate, has suddenly decided to leave his post, submitting his resignation to Police Chief Skënder Hita.

The causes and reasons that led the number 1 of the capital's Police to resign remain unknown, as months ago he successfully passed the "vetting".

His resignation request was accepted by Hita and until a second moment, Oliger Torba was appointed head of the Tirana DVP.

Alushi has held this position for a year and a half.

Previously, he held the position of Deputy Director of the Vlora Police.

On March 7, 2025, the Tirana police chief was summoned to the Special Prosecution Office for reasons that remain unknown to this day, while he made no comments to the media.
