Police officer arrested after fatally hitting pedestrian with car in Maliq

The Police Supervision Agency has arrested a police officer after he fatally hit a pedestrian with his car on the Maliq-Lozhan road, a day ago.

The officer is suspected of committing the criminal offense of "Violation of traffic rules".

Police announcement:

The Police Supervision Agency (Elbasan - Korçë Region) has arrested in flagrante delicto the police officer Inspector DQ, with the duty of General Patrol Officer / Service Corps in the Public Order Section, at the Maliq Police Commissariat, at the Korçë DVP, suspected of committing the criminal offense of "Violation of road traffic rules" provided for in Article 290 of the Criminal Code.

The arrest was made possible after yesterday at around 18:00, while driving his vehicle (during work) on the Maliq - Lozhan road, he was involved in a road accident resulting in the death of a BiH citizen, resident of Maliq.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Korça.
