Judicial Appointments Council, permanent and alternate members elected

The lottery for the Presidency is drawn.

The draw for the election of KED members is being held this Wednesday.

The drawing of lots is carried out by the Institution of the Presidency of the Republic.

Fjona Papajorgji is elected the first permanent member

Marjana Semini, the second representative member from the Constitutional Court, the permanent member.

Genti Ibrahimi, substitute member of the Judicial Appointments Council.

After the draw, Ilir Panda is elected a member of the Judicial Appointments Council and, according to the law, will be the chairman of the Council for 2026.

Valbon Cekrezi elected substitute member

The elected members of the Judicial Appointments Council serve on a part-time basis, without being separated from their regular functions, for a one-year term, which begins on January 1 of each calendar year.

The Judicial Appointments Council is a new constitutional, collegial body, which was created with the entry into force of the amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Albania, which occurred with the approval in 2016 of the legislative package of judicial reform.
