Ismail Qemali's great-grandson, Nedim Vlora

The great-grandson of Ismail Qemali, Nedim Vlora, participated this November 28 in the celebrations being held in the city of Vlora for Independence Day.

In an interview given to Euronews Albania, Ismail Qemali's great-grandson congratulated all Albanians on Flag Day. He emphasized that, even though he has lived his whole life in Italy, he feels Albanian and is proud of this fact.

Nedim Vlora added that, during the communist period, when his family did not have the opportunity to come to Albania, Flag Day was always celebrated in the premises of their home in Italy. He expressed his wish that Albanians integrate into the European Union as soon as possible.

" We have always celebrated this holiday, but at home, as we could not come to Albania, as Albania was closed. In our apartment it was celebrated and always ended with a glass of brandy. I told you that Albania is finally free and democratic. I wish all Albanians a life as happy as possible. I wish you all a future in Europe ", he said.

The father of Nedim Vlora is Ismail Qemal Galip Aleksandër, the son of Mahmut Nedim, who is the first son of Ismail Qemal.
