AMP is conducting an operation after several months of investigations, to strike a corruption scheme in the ranks of the border police.

Following the request of the AMP, the Court of Tirana ordered the arrest in prison for the officers of Rinas, Briken Tereziu and Eno Sulejmanaj.

The latter is in prison after being caught with 1 kilogram of cocaine some time ago.

Also, the court has ordered house arrest for 3 police officers who are Sokol Xhika, Aris Drini, Ermal Mesi, all three officers in Rinas.

Meanwhile, the obligation to appear has been decided for 4 others: Enkis Aliaj, Argil Hasa, Ylli Prenci, and Rei Shenjtolli.

According to sources, 8 other employees are under investigation.

The same sources add that these people, in cooperation with Eneo Sulejmanaj, have cooperated to smuggle money into the EU.

The criminal activity is suspected to have been carried out from March 2023 to March 2024. It is suspected that the agency on behalf of Sulejmanaj "Bus Albania" was waiting for plane tickets for various people who could not travel to the EU.

It is also suspected that Eno Sulejmanaj had contact with the officer Briken Tereziu. The latter, through his colleagues, allowed illegal persons to be instructed to cross the border through monetary sums.

Briken Tereziu is wanted as he has not yet been arrested. All the officers are accused of abuse of duty.

While Sulejmanaj is accused of active corruption of persons exercising public functions.
