The Special Prosecutor's Office has confirmed that the narcotic substance cocaine was found in 48 tons of seized cattle skin.

The sources have announced that for this reason expertise was carried out on some of the 850 pieces of skins that were blocked in the November 15 operation located in a warehouse in Mullet, Tirana.

Another verification has started on the remains of the traces in the bags and materials found during the controls in the drug laboratory.

They will serve to discover other persons involved in this international traffic.

In the meantime, it is being considered whether it will be necessary to hire foreign experts in order to separate the drug, which has been melted into the cattle skins that have their source of origin from Latin America.

Investigations revealed that cocaine was hidden inside these materials, which after coming to Albania via sea routes was placed in Mullet.

There, the material was separated and further processed in Cherekë of Fushë Krujë.

For this operation SPAK issued 10 arrest warrants.

The criminal group had been under surveillance for 12 months. Among those arrested are also 3 foreign citizens who are believed to be serving the group for the processing of cocaine.
