“ The Chisinau Declaration, adopted by the 46 member states of the Council of Europe, recognizes the legitimacy for nations of innovative solutions in managing migratory flows, such as repatriation centers in third countries, according to the model launched by Italy in Albania. What was only a year ago causing debate, has today become Europe's approach .”

This is what Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on social media, commenting on the declaration adopted yesterday in Chisinau (Moldova) by the Foreign Ministers of 46 member states: " An important result, the fruit of a path that Italy has helped to open with courage and determination together with Danish Prime Minister Frederiksen."

Further, the President of the Council added: "What only a year ago sparked discussions, today has become a common principle among the 46 member states of the Council of Europe and shows, once again, that the Italian approach to an orderly management of migratory flows, followed with seriousness and coherence by our government, has now also become the approach of Europe."
