A citizen who collaborated with the investigative show Fiks Fare to uncover a bribery scheme in the Rinas Police was threatened with death a few days ago.
The incident occurred on April 20, 2026, when the citizen in question initially received a threatening phone call and then several messages, as he again sought the show's help to discover who was behind this threat.
In an interview, the citizen says that the call lasted several minutes, while the number was revealed. "The number is not hidden. The person addressed me in a threatening, blackmailing tone and then started swearing. I asked him to identify himself, but he did not tell me his name. I suspected that it was the same officer that I had denounced on the show 'Fiks Fare' in October 2025, so I addressed you again," he says.
He further explains that after the call, he asked the person to identify himself, while he wrote that "I am the guy you took revenge on". "Then I went to Police Station No. 4 in Tirana and filed a criminal report. A police officer discovered that behind that number was former employee Kevin Kosova, who was suspended at the time and then detained," adds the citizen.
The police have received the report and have examined the citizen's phone. "The officer called him in my face and asked him who he was. He didn't speak and hung up the phone," the citizen concludes, as he says how it is possible for an officer to openly threaten him.
Fiks Fare has contacted Police Station No. 4 in Tirana for further investigations, while the officer who received the report stated that "the report was made for intimidation and the report has been referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office."
In October 2025, the investigative show Fiks Fare broadcast an investigation into a bribery scheme at the Police Station near Rinas International Airport, where dozens of police officers were suspected of taking bribes from citizens to help them cross into Schengen countries, despite problems with documentation or stay limits.
The documentary documented the actions of employee Kevin Kosova, who took money from the show's collaborator in exchange for border crossing. They held two meetings in Tirana, where the officer directed the citizen to the counter where he should report and the person he should look for at the airport.
During the conversations, the police officer assured the associate that “he didn’t have to worry about the deadlines,” while at another point he took the amount of 100 thousand old lekë, considering it “sufficient” for the crossing. Then, when the citizen went to Rinas, the officer sent him photos of the counters and names of other officers who were on duty, to enable the crossing.
