The company Sori-Al SHPK has reacted after the decision of the National Food Authority (AKU), which today blocked the activity of the company managed by Alma Tafani.

In a public statement, SORI-al Shpk has called the AKU's decision to completely block the activity as not based on any final laboratory conclusion proving the existence of a confirmed food poisoning episode.

statement

Following the public statement of the National Food Authority (AKU), as well as in the face of the high public interest and perception created during these days, the Company "SORI-AL" sh.pk feels the moral obligation to continue to clarify public opinion on the real factual circumstances and the official documentation administered so far regarding the event of 06.05.2026 at the Security Academy.

Referring to the official documentation administered by the Infectious Diseases Service at the QSUT, the presented persons have shown a mild to moderate clinical picture, while the diagnosis is referred to only as "suspected acute gastroenteritis" and not as laboratory-confirmed food poisoning. Also, according to the same medical documentation, the patients have received symptomatic treatment and have been discharged from the hospital within a very short time interval, from 1 to 3-4 hours, in a stabilized condition and without serious consequences for their health.

On the other hand, laboratory and epidemiological reports administered so far by the Institute of Public Health have not identified viral or bacterial pathogens in the examined persons. Also, rectal swabs of personnel have resulted negative for Salmonella and Shigella, while water analyses have resulted within the parameters allowed according to the standards in force.

It is also important to note that the National Food Authority itself has made public the fact that out of 9 samples sampled, 8 of them resulted within the legal and microbiological norms allowed, while the claim for non-conformity is related to only a single food sample. This sample belongs to the dinner meal, an unconsumed product, and has no direct connection to the suspected case of poisoning reported on 06.05.2026, since the reported episode itself is related to the lunch meal and not to the dinner meal.

However, what is not clarified in the public statement of the AKU is the fact that the extreme measure of total closure of the activity is not based on any final laboratory conclusion proving the existence of a confirmed food poisoning episode, but on the epidemiological report of the Institute of Public Health. Meanwhile, this epidemiological report itself does not recommend the closure of the activity, but recommends monitoring, corrective hygiene and sanitary measures and further follow-up of the situation.

Despite this, extreme administrative measures have been taken against the entity, including the total blocking of activity and the imposition of multiple fines, measures which exceed the powers provided for by Article 46, point 2 of the Law on Inspection and Article 47 of the Law "On Food".

The "SORI-AL" company considers that any administrative measure should be based on complete evidence, legal standards and rigorous compliance with administrative procedures, and not on preliminary interpretations or treatments that create disproportionate public impact before the completion of the investigations.

Despite the current situation, our company has immediately taken additional hygiene and sanitation measures, carrying out in-depth cleaning, disinfection and professional DDD interventions.

The company "SORI-AL" will continue to cooperate with the competent institutions, while simultaneously pursuing all administrative and legal avenues to protect its legitimate rights and interests.
