The Special Court in The Hague has continued the session to announce the verdict against four former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
During the hearing, the trial panel found that the Specialized Prosecution Office failed to prove the existence of a widespread and systematic attack against the civilian population after June 20, 1999, as a condition for the charges of crimes against humanity.
"Regarding the existence of a widespread attack against the civilian population as a condition for crimes against humanity, the Trial Panel found that the SPO failed to establish that this widespread attack against the civilian population was committed," the presiding judge stated.
This finding has meant that the charges of crimes against humanity, as well as those of war crimes, are not supported by this court's finding for the period after June 20, 1999.
Meanwhile, during the hearing, the accusation regarding the existence of a joint criminal enterprise was confirmed, according to the Prosecution's claims.
The hearing at the Special Court in The Hague continues, as the trial panel reads and reasons the verdict against four former KLA leaders.
