As part of the police operation coded "Krateri", 27 greenhouses were discovered in which about 8,000 cannabis seedlings were cultivated with cubes in Koplik of Malësi e Madhe.

Following the investigative actions, the organizer of this activity, Nesti Delaj alias Errnest Veshtaj, 52 years old, resident of Bajze in Malësi e Madhe, was arrested in the act.

In addition, the criminal proceedings were initiated in a free state for Gjovalin Gjekaj, 61 years old, with the position of Director of Forest Service in Malėsi e Madhe, Roland Gjekaj, 41 years old, with the function of water specialist in the municipality of Malėsi e Madhe (which covers the area where the saplings were found narcotics) and Arben Hysaj, plumber of the Waterworks in Malësi e Madhe municipality, which also covers the area where the narcotic seedlings were found).

In his apartment, the Police found and confiscated 3 shotguns, combat ammunition and 5 cold weapons (knives) that he was carrying without a permit.

3 employees of the Malësi e Madhe municipality (Director of the Forestry Service, Waterworks specialist and Waterworks plumber) are being prosecuted for abuse of office.

The services of the Malësi e Madhe Police Station, in cooperation with the investigative structures of the Shkodër Local Police Directorate, in implementation of the plan of measures to prevent the cultivation of narcotic plants, in the wake of consecutive mega-operations, developed in recent months, in throughout the country, with a focus on cracking down on criminal activities in the field of narcotics, as well as thanks to information intelligence, that in the place called "Badra e Mehajve", in Koplik, center, in a crater that has been used for taking inerts, plants could be cultivated narcotics in greenhouses, have organized and developed the anti-cannabis police mega-operation coded "Krateri".

As a result of this mega-operation, 20 meters deep in this crater, 27 greenhouses were identified, inside which were found cultivated in cubes, about 8,000 suspected narcotic cannabis sativa seedlings, in the process of being cultivated in the ground.

The investigative group, during the inspection of the scene, seized valuable evidence that will serve the investigation, with the aim of clarifying and fully documenting this criminal activity.

Also, work continues at the scene with the aim of accurately determining the number of seedlings, seizing a quantity of seedlings as material evidence, destroying the rest of the seedlings and destroying the material base that served for the cultivation of narcotic seedlings in cubes, process which will be reflected through film and photographic images.

Following the investigative actions, the citizen ND alias EV, 52 years old, resident of Bajzë, Malësi e Madhe, was arrested as the suspected organizer of this criminal activity. 

Yes, following the investigative actions, the free trial for citizens Gj. Gj., 61 years old, with the position of Director of the Forestry Service in Malësi e Madhe municipality; R. Gj., 41 years old, with the duty of water supply specialist in the municipality of Malësi e Madhe (which covers the area where the narcotic seedlings were found) and AH, 36 years old, with the duty of plumber of the Waterworks in the municipality of Malësi e Madhe (which covers the area where the narcotic seedlings were found).

During the search in the residence of citizen ND, the Police found and seized as material evidence 3 shotguns, a quantity of cartridges for shotguns and 5 cold weapons (knives), which this citizen was carrying without a permit.

The investigative structures of the Malësi e Madhe Police Station and those of the DVP Shkodër, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office at the Shkodër Judicial District Court, continue the actions to identify and capture other citizens involved in this criminal activity.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office, for further actions, for the ND citizen, for the criminal offenses "Cultivation of narcotic plants", "Production and possession without permission of hunting and sporting weapons" and "Production, possession, purchase or sale without permission of cold weapons", while for citizens Gj. Gj., R. Gj. and AH, for the criminal offense "Abuse of duty".

The Police of Shkodra appeals to farmers and residents of rural areas, not to fall prey to individuals or criminal groups that deal with the cultivation of narcotic plants, as the Police of Shkodra is very determined to strike with the force of the law, anyone who tries to carry out this criminal activity.
