Another successful search and rescue (SAR) operation has been finalized by the Albanian Naval Force within the framework of the NATO mission in the Aegean Sea.

The news was announced by the Minister of Defense, Pirro Vengu, through an announcement on social media.

The Albanian patrol boat “Butrinti” P-134, part of the international operation, came to the aid of 13 migrants, including two children, in the Aegean waters. The operation was carried out in close cooperation with the Greek and Turkish Coast Guards and ended with complete success, without any incident.

"Our forces are always ready to fulfill the humanitarian mission within NATO," Defense Minister Pirro Vengu wrote on social media.
