US President Donald Trump held a more than two-hour phone call yesterday with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, where, as international media reported, the focus was on the possibility of a ceasefire in the Ukraine war.
However, during a conference in the White House Rose Garden, Trump said that Putin had also mentioned the First Lady.
"Putin just said, they [Russians] respect your wife a lot," Trump said. When the US president asked, "What about me?", he said Putin replied, "They like Melania better."
He also mentioned that he spent two and a half hours talking with Putin about serious matters.
Trump noted that progress had been made in their discussions, however, he decided to share this funny moment with the crowd that has been reflected in all international media.
From the Rose Garden, the US president signed the "Take It Down" Act, prohibiting the distribution or use of images of people without their consent.
Donald Trump took a moment to thank First Lady Melania Trump for her leadership on critical issues, praising her dedication and compassion.
He highlighted her efforts in securing $25 million to provide housing and support for young people leaving foster care.
US President Donald Trump allowed his wife, Melania, to sign legislation on Monday to ban artificial intelligence-generated pornography featuring real people's faces.
