Police have arrested 2 people and are searching for 2 others, accused of cultivating cannabis and then selling it in Greece .

As part of the police operation codenamed " Group ", the two financiers of the cultivation were arrested, citizens Leonard Xhemollari, 45 years old, resident of Maliq, and Gentian Muço , 48 years old, resident of Korça.

Meanwhile, the two organizers of the trafficking were declared wanted, citizens Rexhildo Berberi, 42, and Abidin Guraj, 35, both residents of Korça.

"After in-depth investigations using proactive methods, the financiers and organizers of the cultivation, production and trafficking of cannabis in the territory of the village of Polovisht, in Maliq, were identified. The produced narcotic substance was stored in the village of Voskop, Korça, where the drying and processing process was carried out, with the aim of transporting it to the Greek state," the police said.

According to the police, the two wanted citizens are organizers of drug trafficking in 4 previous cases, which were cracked down on by the Police.

As material evidence, police vests, GPS devices, tracking devices, hidden cameras and recording devices, vehicle license plates, USBs, memory cards, DVRs, laptops, drones, and sales and use contracts for various vehicles were seized from the group members.

During the search conducted at the apartment of citizen RB, who was declared wanted, an environment adapted for vehicle modification was discovered on the first floor of the apartment.

Rexhildo Berberi and Abidin Guraj, according to the police, are organizers of cannabis trafficking in four cases previously cracked by the Police:

The event of 08.06.2025, where citizen VB was arrested in flagrante delicto, who was caught with 6 kg of narcotics suspected of heroin, at the Kapeshtica checkpoint;

The incident of 25.04.2024, where citizens K. SH. and HM were arrested, who were caught with a quantity of 12.5 kg of narcotics, suspected to be cannabis;

The event of 23.09.2023, where citizen KK was arrested, in the city of Pogradec, with a quantity of 52.6 kg of narcotics, cannabis;

The event of 27.11.2023, where citizens LL and SP were arrested, and a quantity of 26 kg of narcotics was seized in the Greek state.

All four of these citizens are suspected of having, in collaboration with each other, cultivated narcotic plants in the village of Polovisht-Maliq and stored them in the village of Voskop, Korça, where the drying and processing process was carried out, and then transported to the Greek state.

The operation continues to identify and document the involvement of other persons implicated in this criminal event.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action, for the criminal offenses "Production and sale of narcotics", "Cultivation of narcotic plants" and "Trafficking in narcotics"
