After paying tribute in the area called "Obelisk" in the city of Lezha to 25-year-old Xhuana Nikollaj, a relative of hers revealed that the day after the serious incident, the victim was going to start a new job in Tirana.

In a statement to the media, Xhuana's relative added that when her family was faced with the truth that her then-partner, Eraldo Fizi, was exercising violence against their daughter, they acted immediately and took their daughter home.

Xhuana then chose to move to Tirana to start a new life, where she would soon start working.

"Xhuana is one of the victims that often happens here. It hit us like a bomb. She didn't express any concerns. We thought she might have gone into depression since she had been separated from him for 3 months, we thought many things. But it was none of those. We are sorry about that.

Where did the circumstances come from, how did it come about? She lived with friends there. When she expressed concerns to her family, the family went to theirs and took the girl. They said, 'for these reasons, we will take the girl' and they did not object.

"Then later she went to Tirana to live there. The next day she would start working. She was looking at life from a different perspective. I have 1,000 messages for women and girls, so that they don't remain silent, but speak up. Those times have changed, now they are free," she said.
