A highly wanted Albanian for international drug trafficking has been arrested in Bologna.

It is learned that the 37-year-old, whose name has not been disclosed, was arrested upon arriving from Spain at Fiumicino Airport, Rome.

An international arrest warrant was issued against him after it was discovered that he was part of a well-organized drug trafficking network through intercepts of the Sky ECC application.

Investigations revealed that the young man was a user of the application and numerous conversations were found, on which charges were filed, as he used it to manage drug trafficking.

In March of this year, 5 more arrest warrants were issued for his associates, while at that time, the Albanian was arrested in Spain.

The structured criminal group was made up of Albanians, who managed drug trafficking through the SKY ECC application.

The arrested man had been living in Bologna for years, but had moved to Spain in 2022, where he was in custody for drug trafficking. The court imposed a "prison arrest" measure on him, after a plantation with 2,167 cannabis plants, 53 grams and 581 marijuana tablets, 581 cannabis tablets, was found on him.

The Albanian is suspected of also using his criminal connections to traffic cocaine.

According to investigations, from March to December 2020, he trafficked 50 kilograms of cocaine (with a commercial purchase value of 1.7 million euros) and 80 kilograms of marijuana (around 300 thousand euros) into Italy.

As soon as he landed in Italy, he was given a security measure along with the final sentence of 2 years and 8 months in prison, and was also fined 12 thousand euros.

It turns out that he was previously arrested in Bologna in 2019, after being caught in a parking lot with 150 grams of cocaine ready for sale.
