On International Holocaust Day, Prime Minister Edi Rama shared a photo on Facebook in commemoration of the lost lives.

Rama writes that Albania has a place of honor in the history of the Second World War for the support given to the Jews.

"The memory of the Holocaust victims will never be forgotten! International Holocaust Day for the reaction to which Albania has a place of honor in the history of the Second World War", writes the head of the government.

We remind you that yesterday a special session was held in the Assembly in memory of the lives lost in the Holocaust. In the speech delivered by the Speaker of the Assembly Lindita Nikolla and the head of the parliamentary group of the Socialist Party, Albania's role in supporting the Jews in those difficult times was emphasized.

The President of Israel addressed a letter to the Assembly as a sign of gratitude for the contribution to the Jewish people. Likewise, the Speaker of the Assembly of Israel said in a video message that he is grateful that Albania opposes anti-Semitism by law and was a second homeland for Jews during the Second World War.
