New details emerge from the tragic event of the suicide of 25-year-old Xhuana Nikollaj.

"I can't take it anymore! I'm sorry I bothered you, but believe me, I've never been mean to you. Thank you for everything you've done for me!"

These are the words written in the farewell letter that Xhuana Nikollaj left to her family before committing suicide.

The whole incident took place in Tirana, on March 9, when the ex-husband of the deceased, Eraldo Fizi, went to Xhuana Nikollaj's apartment at the former aviation field in Tirana. Xhuana had been living in Tirana for a while in a rented apartment with a friend of hers. The 25-year-old, who had graduated in law, had also started working to make ends meet in the capital, after separating from Eraldo Fizi. Xhuana was expecting to start a new job in the profession for which she had graduated and she was very happy for the opportunity that was being given to her.

The 25-year-old's family was aware of her situation with her ex-husband, mainly her sisters, and this was one of the reasons why they decided for Xhuana to move to Tirana, where she initially lived with her sister, and then lived with her friend at the former aviation field.

Nikollaj's family has always been supportive of her, even helping her with the situation that had happened to her after the marriage. The young woman had always complained to her family, not about her ex-husband, but about his family. According to family members, Nikollaj claimed that the relationship was working as it should until his family intervened. Among other things, family members say that she was not pregnant and until the moment she met Fizi in Tirana she was quite happy.

On March 9, her ex-husband went to the palace, while Xhuana went downstairs with her friend, where Eraldo Fizi was. The friend, worried about Xhuana, went downstairs with her, stayed for a while and then went up to the apartment. It is suspected that during the time she stayed with him, Xhuana was brutally raped by 25-year-old Eraldo Fizi. In a state of severe psychological distress and rape, the young woman went to the apartment around 3 am.

In the morning, the friend who shared the house left for work. Around 7 am, after the friend left, it is suspected that Xhuana consumed phostoxin and began writing a farewell letter to her family. Xhuana has three other sisters, and after committing the act of self-sacrifice, she called her sister who lived in England, telling her about the extreme act she had undertaken.

Immediately concerned, the sister called her friend and the owner of the rented apartment, who, as soon as he was informed, called the ambulance and the police. Police are also investigating how Xhuana obtained the phostoxin, as she had been with her ex-husband the entire time until 3 a.m., when she returned to the apartment. Investigators have also raised other suspicions about 25-year-old Eraldo Fizi, who is on the run. Xhuana Nikollaj did not suffer from depression and had never been treated.
