A serious incident occurred this afternoon in neighborhood 14 of the city of Korça, where a 20-year-old man was allegedly shot dead.

The victim has been identified as Johan Zuko, part of the Armed Forces.

According to preliminary information, it is suspected that a Kalashnikov-type firearm was used in the incident.

Initial reports indicate that the victim and the suspected perpetrator were friends and grew up together.

It is suspected that the perpetrator followed the 20-year-old to the neighborhood where the incident occurred.

The victim, who was not a resident of the area, is reported to have attempted to hide inside a building, but the perpetrator is suspected of having followed him and shot him to death inside the building.

It is learned that the suspected perpetrator has criminal records for illegal possession of weapons and wounding.

The police are working to locate and arrest the perpetrator. Police checkpoints have been set up in several areas, while searches continue to find the suspect.

Police forces have arrived at the scene and are conducting investigative actions to fully document the circumstances of the incident.
